You sit in the chair, Like a lion in it's lair, The nurse gives you an innocent smile, Pokes you a long while, It feels like a vampire sucking your blood, Which is actually worser than a flood. You try to be cool, But act like a fool. And when the astringent is applied, You feel like your hand is being fried. Finally you trotter to your feet , And try to run two feet.  മാതൃദിനം   മെയ് 8 അന്താരാഷ്‌ട്ര മാതൃദിനമായി ആചരിക്കുന്നു .അത് ആലോചിച്ചു നോക്കൂ, നമ്മൾ നമ്മുടെ അമ്മമാരെ ആഘോഷിക്കുകയും അവരെ സ്നേഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ദിവസം മാത്രമാണോ. അവർ എല്ലാ ദിവസവും ഓർക്കപ്പെടാൻ അർഹരാണ്.  അമ്മ എന്ന പദത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ചിന്തിക്കുമ്പോൾ, എന്താണ് നമ്മുടെ മനസ്സിലേക്ക് ഓടിയെത്തുന്നത്? അത് തീർച്ചയായും നിരുപാധികമായ സ്നേഹം, ത്യാഗം, കരുതൽ തുടങ്ങിയവയായിരിക്കും. വാക്കുകൾക്കൊന്നും അതിനെ പൂർണ്ണമായി വിവരിക്കാനാവില്ല. അമ്മമാർ തീർച്ചയായും നമുക്ക് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഏറ്റവും വലിയ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്.  . എന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനെ കൈപിടിച്ചു നിർത്തിയപ്പോഴാണ് എനിക്ക് എന്റെ അമ്മയെ പൂർണ്ണമായി മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞത്.എന്റെ പ്രസവം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ, എന്റെ ഭർത്താവുൾപ്പെടെ എല്ലാവരും കുഞ്ഞിനെ കാണാൻ വളരെ ആവേശത്തിലായിരുന്നു, പക്ഷേ ഞാൻ വളരെ ക്ഷീണിതനായിരുന്നു, ആ സമയത്ത് അത് മാത്രമായിരുന്നു.  എന്റെ അമ്മ, അവരുടെ പ്രധാന ആശങ്ക ഞാനായിരുന്നു 😥. ഒരു കുട്ടിയെ ലോകത്തിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവരിക എന്നത് എളുപ്പമുള്ള കാര്യമല്ല. 9 മാസം ഒരു അമ്മ തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞിനെ ഗർഭപാത്രത്തിൽ വഹിക്കുന്നു, പിന്നെ 2 വർഷം മുലകുടി . അവളുടെ ...

 ലക്ഷദ്വീപ് 11 വർഷം മുമ്പാണ് ലക്ഷദ്വീപ് ദ്വീപുകൾ സന്ദർശിക്കാൻ അവസരം ലഭിച്ചത്. എന്റെ ഭർത്താവിന് 3 മാസമായി അവിടെ ഒരു ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിൽ പോസ്റ്റിംഗ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു, അതിനാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ പോകാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. ഞങ്ങൾ അവിടെ വിമാനത്തിൽ യാത്ര ചെയ്തു, എനിക്ക് കപ്പലിൽ പോകാൻ ആഗ്രഹമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു, പക്ഷേ മിക്ക ആളുകൾക്കും കടൽ അസുഖം വരുകയും ചിലപ്പോൾ കാലാവസ്ഥ മോശമാകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതിനാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യരുതെന്ന് ഉപദേശിച്ചു. രാവിലെ കൊച്ചിയിൽ നിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ട് ഉച്ചയോടെ അഗത്തി ദ്വീപിലെത്തി. ലക്ഷദ്വീപ് ഏകദേശം 36 ദ്വീപുകളുള്ള ഒരു കേന്ദ്രഭരണ പ്രദേശമാണ്, അതിൽ 10 എണ്ണം മാത്രമേ ജനവാസമുള്ളൂ. ലക്ഷദ്വീപിന്റെ തലസ്ഥാനമാണ് കവരത്തി. ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു വില്ലയിൽ ഒരു മുറി അനുവദിച്ചു. അവിടെ വേറെയും ഡോക്ടർമാരുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. കുറച്ച് റിസോർട്ടുകളുള്ള വളരെ മനോഹരമായ ഒരു ദ്വീപാണ് അഗത്തി. ദ്വീപ് മുഴുവൻ ഏകദേശം 8 കിലോമീറ്റർ മാത്രം. റോഡുകൾ വളരെ ഇടുങ്ങിയതാണ്, അതിനാൽ പ്രധാന ഗതാഗത മാർഗ്ഗം സൈക്കിൾ ആണ്. ആ സ്ഥലം ആദ്യം കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ഒരു കാലം പിന്നോട്ട് പോയ പോലെ തോന്നി. തീർച്ചയായും പുതിയവ ഒഴികെ അവിടെയുള്ള വീടുകൾ പഴയ രീതിയിലായിരുന്നു. അവർക്ക് എല്ലാ അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യ...

 പെൺമക്കൾ രത്നങ്ങളാണ്. എന്നെ തെറ്റിദ്ധരിക്കരുത്, ആൻമക്കളും രത്നങ്ങളാണ്. ഇപ്പോഴും നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീവിരുദ്ധത കൊണ്ടാണ് ഞാൻ ഈ വിഷയം തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത്. പെൺകുട്ടികൾക്കും സ്ത്രീകൾക്കും അർഹമായ ബഹുമാനം ഇപ്പോഴും ലഭിക്കാത്തത് ലജ്ജാകരമാണ്. നിങ്ങളുടെ നിലനിൽപ്പിന് കാരണം സ്ത്രീയായിരിക്കെ പുരുഷന് എങ്ങനെയാണ് സ്ത്രീകളോട് ഇത്ര മുൻവിധി കാണിക്കുന്നത്. കുഞ്ഞിന്റെ ലിംഗഭേദത്തിന് ഉത്തരവാദി പിതാവിന്റെ ക്രോമസോം ആണെന്ന് അറിയാതെ പലരും ഇപ്പോഴും െപണുങളെ  കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു. പെൺമക്കളോടുള്ള ഇഷ്ടക്കേട് ആദ്യകാലം മുതലേ നിലവിലുണ്ട്. ഏഷ്യൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ പെൺമക്കളുണ്ടായതിന് സ്ത്രീകൾ വിവാഹമോചനം നേടുന്നു, പെൺകുട്ടികൾ കുടുംബത്തിന് നാണക്കേടുണ്ടാക്കുമെന്ന് കരുതി പ്രാകൃത അറബികൾ അവരുടെ പെൺമക്കളെ ജീവനോടെ കുഴിച്ചുമൂടുക പോലും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. ചില സമുദായങ്ങളിൽ ആളുകൾക്ക് പെൺകുട്ടികളെ ആവശ്യമില്ല, കാരണം അവർ വിവാഹസമയത്ത് സ്ത്രീധനം നൽകണം. കുട്ടികൾ നമ്മുടെ നാഥനിൽ നിന്നുള്ള അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളാണെന്നും അവരുടെ ലിംഗഭേദമില്ലാതെ അവരെ തുല്യമായി പരിഗണിക്കുകയും അവരെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുകയും ആവശ്യമായ എല്ലാ സൗകര്യങ്ങളും നൽകുകയും വേണം. അല്ലാഹു അവൻ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത് ...

  Daughters are gems. Don't get me wrong, sons are gems too. I chose this topic because of the misogyny which still exists. It is such a shame that girls and women are still not given the respect they deserve. How can man be so prejudiced against women when she is the reason for your existence. So many people still blame ladies for having daughters without knowing that it is the father's chromosome that is responsible for the gender of the baby. Dislike for daughters has been prevelant since the early times. In Asian countries ladies are divorced for having daughters, primitive arabs used to even bury their daughters alive because they thought girls would bring shame to the family. In some communities people don't want girls because they have to give dowry during the time of marriage.  (A picture I had taken from there) It was 11 years ago that I had a chance to visit Lakshadweep islands. My husband had a posting  in a hospital there for 3 months and so we decided to go. We travelled there by plane, I wanted to go by ship but we were advised not to because most people get sea sickness and sometimes the weather becomes rough. We left Cochin in the morning and reached Agatti Island by noon. Lakshadweep is an Union Territory with around 36 Islands, out of which only 10 are inhabited. Kavaratti is the capital of Lakshadweep. We were a llocated a  r oom in a Villa. There were other doctors there too. Agatti is a very picturesque Island with few resorts. The whole Island is only around 8kms. The roads are very narrow and hence the main mode of transport is Cycle. When I first saw the place I felt like I had travelled back in time.  MOTHER NATURE When I wake up in the morning, I hear the birds chirping, It gives me immense pleasure, To admire Mother Nature, The ponds,streams and greenery, The sky so blue, Leaving me with no clue , Of how Mankind can destroy nature's beauty. Mother Nature is God's gift, Recycle,Reduce and Reuse. Do not cut trees unnecessarily, Plant more. Preserve water instead of wasting carelessly. Throw garbage in the allocated bins. They ended up in a cave where they slept for many years and when they woke up they felt like they had slept only for a day or half a day. One of them went to buy food and he found himself amongst a different people. SubhanAllah, in the Surah it is mentioned that they slept for more than 300 years.  Depression  Everyone is scared to even utter that word.People feel it is shameful .Mental health is neglected .Being human beings we do have mood swings .It is natural. Mostly everyone in their lifetime experiences such issues.It may be due to a big calamity like loss of a loved one or the reason may be very minute to the others around. The reason I decided to write this article is because I myself have been through this and so many people I know too .As ladies due to hormonal changes there are mood swings,like  during postpartum.  Friday- There is an hour on Friday in which duas are accepted. People will be rewarded according to the time they reach the masjid Muslims look forward to Friday.We should increase in Dhikr and send salutations on the Prophet (PBUH). Extra charity can be given. Life of Muhammad(SAW)   Choosing a profession- Nabi (PBUH) had lost his parents and his grandfather at an early age and he was under the care of his Uncle Abu Talib. He did not have any inheritance. First he worked as a sheperd. He was noted for his trustworthiness, honesty and piety, he came to be called "Al Ameen". Journey to Syria- Muhammad(PBUH) trustworthiness and reputation led Khadijah Bint Khuwaylid to entrust him with her merchandise to sell in Syria.
