Nostalgia

As my first born slowly turns into a young adult,a lot of memories come flooding up.When I was in 3rd year BDS I got married.Within few months,I was carrying Shaza. Her grandparents were very excited as she was the first grandchild on both sides.I had taken some leave during the time and returned back to college when Shaza was 5 months.

Being a new mom,it was very challenging for me to leave her,few hours every day and go to college. One year passed by.I had my mom with me most of the time and we had nannies too. After my final year exams I joined my husband in his hometown. When the results came ,I had back papers .It broke my heart to think of leaving Shaza and going again.I was in a state of dilemma,of continuing the course or quitting and being with my family.

A lot of people encouraged me to continue and others discouraged saying "it's not necessary for girls to earn".The irony being that they send their own girls to study further😊.

I decided to stay back .After few months we shifted to Ernakulam for my husband to continue his studies. We were there for around 6 years.I then did a course in Montessori.Shortly I had Amani. When Amani was around 2 I joined as a teacher in Shaza's school.I worked for sometime and then later had to quit because Amani hadn't adjusted to her play school.

Shortly afterwards Liyana was born. Then my husband got an opportunity to work in Dubai and we also joined him.Amani started her schooling.

In 2019 December COVID had started and I was carrying Aiman. He was born during the peak time of COVID.Shortly my parents and younger brother joined us in UAE.

As I look back over the years ,I do have regrets, but I know I did what's best for my family.I learned many lessons too ,in the journey of life people will be there to put you down, but do what suits you best and live for yourself before sacrificing for others.Life is too short to waste and hold grudges.

To the world I may be a big zero but to my family I am a warrior, princess and lioness.
