My younglings
I was thinking 🤔 of the topic for my next blog when I thought it should be about children.
Children are a trust(Amanah) placed on us by our Lord and given to us for a destined time.Nobody gets to choose parents. All babies are born with Fitrah(natural inclination),pure. Then it is the family ofcourse who bring up their children with certain values, morals etc.
We live in a world where some have children and some don't ,that again is ofcourse the will of God.
Babyhood-A child is born.He/she is given a name and cared for as they are completely dependent.Slowly they start to smile, recognize and explore the world around them.
Some personal experiences-
Shaza was born, she was the first granddaughter on both sides too.She was basically a quiet baby, who didn't create much trouble for me.
Along came Amani, she was a 'tomboy' who was a little naughty.
Liyana was more like Shaza. She was also quiet not very naughty .
Aiman ,the boy after these 3 was and is indeed naughty😃.
It amazes me to see how each one is different regarding likes, dislikes etc. Each one being special in his/her own way.
Toddlerhood- Shaza was a child who used to stick to me always. She always used to walk around holding a doll wherever she went.Few words she used to say when she started talking- kayi for kazhinju meaning finished or done, Akayi for ice-cream,Manga for tummy etc😄.
Once when she was around 8 months, she was sitting on her potty and had the habit of simply sitting and sliding it forwards and backwards, she stood up and my sis in law who was nearby called me saying she is done. When I checked ,shaza had taken few potatoes from the vegetable stand and put it in the potty.Thank god it was clean.😄.
I used to love dressing her up with party wears and all but to my dismay, she didn't like it at all.She wanted to wear only casual, comfortable clothes. At home I had to hide few of the dresses that she always wanted to wear.
Then came along Amani, she was a little tomboy😃. Opposite of Shaza.I had to run behind her when going out.Once when she was around 1 1/2 we had gone shopping and she was pulling out all the shoes kept on display,my husband caught hold of her hand and we went home. She wasn't moving her hand at all. Then for few days there was restricted movement in her hand.Alhamdulillah slowly she got better.
Amani wanted to wear only pant and shirt at that age. When Liyana came along and she became a big sister, she became quite independent.
It was after the birth of Liyana that we shifted to UAE.She was a mix of both her sisters not too clingy and not too naughty.Making food in the kitchen for me was a big chore with her because she didn't want to stay in her room when I was in the kitchen,I would have to give her dough balls,my rolling pin and utensils to keep her engaged.
It was during the peak COVID time Aiman was born.So we had a new routine, online classes and all.Aiman would also scream his head off when I put him on his play mat to do my chores.Slowly each one became more independent.Aiman's naughtiness leaves me in a situation where I don't know whether to laugh, cry or shout،😄.Well children are so innocent and they do light up our lives.
My little ones grew and all started school.Looking back Alhamdulillah we have so many beautiful memories with them. One day I know my nest will be empty and my munchkins will leave and fly on their own.
May Allah bless our children with goodness, health, longevity and protect them from evil.May they be a source of Sadaqa jaariah for us..Ameen
