Memoir

June 3-It has been one year now since we lost him. Many a times I have thought of writing about him but each time I would be flooded with memories.

Dr Abdul Manaf, was a wonderful person, a good son, a loving brother, husband, father and uncle. As they say all goodness in one package.

As our ancestors say good people are taken away quickly because our Lord loves them.

My husband is the eldest son, Manaf was 6 years younger to him. He was just few days younger to me but still he addressed me as thatha (Elder sister) as I was his elder sister in law.

He and his family were the ones who stayed with our parents. We all ,my husband and his other siblings were in different cities, due to their work and studies. Whenever we used to visit Home ,he used to stock the fridge with supplies to make yummy dishes for us. He was a wonderful cook. His specialities were arabic, chinese etc. Delicious cakes were also made by him. Being a dentist by profession, he was always busy, but still he made it a point to spend time with his loved ones.

An innocent smile could always be seen on his lips.

In 2019 when we had gone for vacation, he had planned a trip to Coorg. Our whole family went together and all of us really enjoyed. Little did we know that would be our last family trip with him.

In 2020 December, he was diagnosed with Lymphoma, he underwent chemotherapy and was slowly recovering but then he caught covid. By May his condition deteriorated and he passed away on June 3.

May Allah make his grave an abode of Jannah and May he be united with his loved ones..Ameen.

After his death, things changed ofcourse, his family has been strong placing trust in Allah. His wife and our parents our trying to move on. It is a very big trial for us ,but as we know nothing is in our hands-"For verily we belong to Him and to Him is our return."

I pray that Allah grants patience and strength to our family and replaces happiness ..Ameen
