Knowing Our Prophet(SAW)-Part 4).

 It was in the month of Ramadhan that an event occurred that transformed the life of Muhammad. He(PBUH) was forty years old.


He was alone in the cave of Mount Hira, He was worshipping Allah .Angel Jibreel (as)   came to him and said to Him: 

"Read"!."I cannot read" Muhammad replied. Jibreel (as) took hold of him and pressed him ,till he couldn't endure any longer. Once again after letting him go, the angel said "Read" .The same thing happened once again. Then the angel released him and said: "Read in the name of your Lord, the Creator. He who created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Bounteous."



The Prophet(saw) was terrified and his heart was pounding. He returned home and asked Khadeejah (ra) to cover him .She covered him and helped him calm down. He said that he feared something had happened to him.

Khadeeja (ra) replied in the negative. She said" Allah would never disgrace you. You  keep good relations with your family, help the feeble and destitute, serve your guests and assist those who deserve help."

After that she took him to her cousin, Warqa bin Naufal. The prophet(saw) related what had happened to him in the cave. Warqa said " that the angel who came to him had also come to Musa(as)".He also mentioned that the people would drive Nabi (saw) out of the land and that if Warqa was alive, he would support him. However few days later Warqa passed away. There was a long gap before Nabi(saw) received the second revelation.

Since the second revelation didn't come ,Nabi (saw) feared that Allah had abandoned him. This was actually a time of reflection and contemplation for him to prepare for what lay ahead.

One day  Prophet(saw) returned to the cave of Hira to worship Allah and when he descended the mountain another strange event took place.

In his words "I heard a voice saying "Muhammad! You are the Prophet of Allah, and I am Jibreel! Then I raised my head and I saw him. I was filled with awe and bowed towards the earth. I hurried home to Khadeejah and asked her to wrap me up. She put a blanket and sprinkled water on me."

It was at this time he received the second revelation.



This revelation with instructions came before Muhammad (saw) was instructed to perform regular prayers.(Salah).Subsequent revelations came in quick succession.

With the first revelation, Nabi (saw) had been appointed as a Prophet and with the second he was entrusted with 2 tasks. The first was to "arise and warn". He was ordered to teach his people about Allah and to warn them about the consequences of their sins.

Nabi(saw)'s second task was to obey the commands of Allah and act as a model for others.

Beginning of the mission-

Muhammed(saw) accepted his duties as a Prophet and messenger. He invited members of his household to worship Allah. Many of them clung to idol worship.

The first believers-

Khadeejah (ra) was the first to believe in nabi(saw).As his wife, she knew about him more than anyone else.

Abu Bakr(ra) was also among the first people to become muslim.

Ali bin Abu Talib (ra) was only a child when the Prophet(saw) 's mission began. Nabi(saw) was like a second father to him. Ali(ra) was living under the guardianship of nabi(saw).

Zayd bin Harith also accepted Islam.

These four people accepted Islam the same day the verses were revealed.

My younglings

 I was thinking 🤔 of the topic for my next blog when I thought it should be about children. Children are a trust(Amanah) placed on us by our Lord and given to us for a destined time.Nobody gets to choose parents.All babies are born with Fitrah(natural inclination),pure.Then it is the family ofcourse who bring up their children with certain values,morals etc. We live in a world where some have children and some don't ,that again is ofcourse the will of God. Babyhood-A child is born.He/she is given a name and cared for as they are completely dependent.Slowly they start to smile,recognize and explore the world around them. Some personal experiences-  Shaza was born,she was the first granddaughter on both sides too.She was basically a quiet baby,who didn't create much trouble for me.
