A Father's love

FATHER'S DAY is celebrated around the world in June. Nowadays due to the influence of social media, many people take these "days" as an opportunity to take pictures with their fathers, buy them flowers, cards, cakes etc and post them on their profiles everywhere. The very next day they might not even care to spend time with their fathers. This is not the case of everyone of course.

From a young age ,children are addicted to their electronic devices and they don't want to talk or spend time with their families. Parents buy these gadgets for their children because to a certain extent they are unavoidable. Since the onset of Covid, students and adults have an excuse that they are studying or working. Although social media has many pros ,there are many cons too. It leads to eyesight problems, headaches, sometimes use of foul language by youngsters because they model the behavior they see on the screen. It also results in being withdrawn from social and physical activities. There is also a loss of family values.

The sacrifices made by mothers is usually portrayed ,but those made by fathers may not be understood. They do a lot,to make both ends meet, to ensure safety of their families ,to educate their children. In so many verses of the Qur'an ,Allah mentions being grateful to parents after mentioning about worshipping HIM.

Some  facts about Fathers-

-For a daughter, her father is always her first hero and for sons they usually get close to their dads after they grow older and realize their value mostly after they start earning .

-A mom's "no" for any matter is taken lightly, whether she raises her voice or she punishes her kids but, a Dad just has to utter" no" and children will stop doing what they are warned against.

-It breaks a father's heart to send his daughter away to another house after marriage because till then ,he protected her like a pearl in it's shell.I still remember the day I got married ,my dad was crying and saying "I am not solely his anymore" .I couldn't bear to see that and I told him ,I would always be his.

A daughter may not always be treated as a Queen πŸ‘‘ by her husband but she is always a princess for her father.

Value of a blessing is sometimes not known until we loose it.So when your parents are alive,do cherish them, take care of them and try your best to please them. For those of you who have lost one or both parents, you can still pray for them and visit their friends.

There were many amazing fathers in the history of Islam-

-Adam (AS)-Our forefather through whom all offspring came. He was the first man and Prophet on earth.

-Ibrahim (AS)-He was a Prophet and Father of 2 Prophets-Ismail(AS) and Ishaq(AS).
He had to leave his wife Hajar and Ismail(AS) in an inhabited land, where there was no water and food. He did this based on Allah's instructions. When the water and food got over, baby Ismail started crying ,his mother ran between the mountains in vain. Later, she realized that the area where her baby was tapping his feet, water was coming out. This was the well of Zam Zam, which continues to provide water. Many people came to stay in the land after water was found.

Then after few years Ibrahim saw a vision in which he had to sacrifice Ismail(AS).Ibrahim (AS) told his son about this and his son replied to do as he was commanded and if Allah wills he would be among the patient.
They both were ready to do the act and then Allah called out to him.

It was a trial for them,Allah asked them to sacrifice a Ram instead.

Yaqub (AS)-He was a Prophet ,son of a Prophet- Ishaq(AS),Father of Yusuf (AS).He exhibited patience, when his other sons took Yusuf(AS) to the woods and said that he was captured by a wolf. He was very sad indeed but his words were "

Muhammed(PBUH)-He had 7 children. All his sons passed away during childhood. His daughters witnessed him being a prophet. The other daughters, except Fathima(RA) died six months after her father's death. He was indeed the best father and Grandfather. At a time when the arabs hated having daughters ,he loved all his children and advised everyone to express their love to children and provide their rights. He had 2 grandsons- Hassan and Hussein whom he loved very much. He played with them, he was empathetic to all children.

Luqman- The wise-There is an entire Surah in the Qur'an about the instructions he gave his son, which is indeed an example for all people. Refer Surah Luqman.
