The masked life

December 2019 -a year we would never forget. It  all started somewhere in China-A rare flu like disease. We heard about it in the news and it didnt affect us at that time.Year 2020 began and all of a sudden ,we heard about the spread to various countries.By March,UAE shut down schools and people were asked to work from home.In China,Italy and some other countries the condition had become very critical.Movement restrictions came about, flights got banned. There was a rapid increase in cases everyday. The world was then declared to be affected by the pandemic -Covid 19.

Lockdown was declared for an uncertain period in India and some other countries. Unlike floods, earthquakes and famines ,this affected every single person.People lost their jobs, lives and mental peace and well being.

No medical facility could give the exact treatment required so everyone had to resort to social distancing, masks and sanitizers. Everyone had to stay home and this affected many psychologically. Some utilized the time exploring new hobbies like cooking, crafts, reading etc.Online platforms and media flourished like never before.

Slowly countries started developing vaccines.Trials were going on everywhere. After sometime developed countries could administer vaccines to a lot of people. But everyone was still doubtful of the success and many didn't want to take it.

2 years passed. As we look back, we know it is a trial for everyone of us.We started to live life with the 'new normal '.

As Allah mentioned in the Qur'an:

When something so very minute as the virus shook the world ,we realised that we are nothing in front of our Creator. We may all have  wealth, knowledge, power etc but we were incapable of bringing the world to normal.Allah has already told us:

Lessons to  be learned

To be humble and not arrogant
To be grateful
To be patient in difficult times
To not be extravagant and wasteful
To not expect from others but Allah
To help others
