Islamic calendar(Hijri calendar)

 2-1-1447

The Islamic calendar, or Hijri calendar, is - lunar. It was introduced by Khalifah Umar (RA). It begins from the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) migration to Madinah, known as Hijrah. The Hijri year consists of 354 days.

The Hijri calendar consists of 12 months. Each month begins with the sighting of the crescent.

The Islamic months are:

Muharram,

Safar,

Rabi ul Awal,

Rabi ul Thani,

Jumad ul Awal,

Jumad ul Akhir,

Rajab,

Sha'aban,

Ramadan,

Shawwal,

Dhul Qaeda,

Dhul-Hijjah.

The Hijri calendar marks many important days for the muslim world. It is indeed a mercy from our Lord ,that the rewards and virtues and things forbidden are mentioned clearly for us, Alhamdulillah.

May Allah help us to become better versions of ourselves, and give us a chance to do more good deeds ,repent for our mistakes , bring peace and love and grant victory to us in both worlds.

AMEEN
